Where do prices come from?
Gold and silver spot prices come from global market data providers every 5 minutes, and exchange rates from FX data providers several times a day. We then compute per-gram prices for each karat in local currency using the formula shown on each page.
Prices are indicative raw-metal prices. Shop prices include making charges, VAT and dealer margins.
Zakat calculator
The zakat method follows the majority scholarly positions on nisab, combining assets and deducting debts, while offering the options where there is recognized difference of opinion, such as the gold or silver nisab. It is a helping tool and not a substitute for asking a scholar about special cases.
